Andy Young Earns CIC Accreditation

Sumners Insurance Agency is proud to announce that Andy Young, an agent since 2015, has earned the prestigious Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation, the insurance industry's premier, proven source for practical insurance education.

The designation is granted after passing five written exams following five 20-hour institutes. Insurance professionals must complete the program within 5 years; it took Andy only 17 months.

Born and raised in Clarion, Iowa, Andy graduated as a class valedictorian in 2011 from Clarion-Goldfield High School and earned degrees in Business Management and Marketing at Iowa State University.

Having always wanted to return to Clarion as an insurance agent in his family business, Sumners Insurance Agency, he did so in 2015 and has since immersed himself in every aspect of the business.

Andy stays active in the community by leading the worship band at the Clarion First United Methodist Church, serving on the Clarion City Council, and volunteering on several local boards.

Andy is the third agent at Sumners Insurance Agency to attain a CIC designation, and everyone on the team at Sumners Insurance Agency maintains a valid insurance license.
